We are interested in recordings of the first TV Singapura broadcast in 1963, pre-1980s family films/home movies of Singapore, pre-1990s television commercials, as well as videos featuring leisure activities of yesteryear and/or disappearing local landmarks and landscapes. Your contributions will go a long way to fill the gaps in our national collections, and ensure that these precious recordings are preserved and accessible for future generations.
Contemporary collecting refers to the acquisition and preservation of materials that reflect the current social, cultural and political landscapes. The collection ensures that, through the contributions made by today’s Singaporeans, future generations can access, understand and appreciate the city-state's cultural tapestry. Everyone plays a part in preserving Singapore’s heritage. We invite you to contribute films and videos that record Singapore’s – and Singaporeans’ reactions to – unique social, cultural, and political landscapes and major events.
