John Leslie Michael Gorrie (J.L.M. Gorrie or Mike Gorrie) was the Private Secretary to H.E. Governor Sir Franklin Gimson, Singapore from 1949 – 1951. This collection was donated by his wife, Joan Gorrie and his diary gives us a glimpse of the life of a government official that was involved in the day to day administration of Singapore, and also his first hand accounts of significant political transitions and events that took place in Singapore during the British administration period
